Officers from the Ministry of National Defense intercepted a trailer truck transporting 150 Central-American migrants in the area of Nueva Apolonia, in the municipality of El Mante.
The multi-agency Tamaulipas Coordination Group reported that the soldiers detected the truck during a patrol on a dirt road going from Tamuin, in San Luis Potosi, to González, in Tamaulipas.
The driver managed to scape, but the soldiers found 70 people from Salvador inside the vehicle, 50 from Guatemala, as well as 27 Hondurans. Some minors are among the group.
The migrants were given attention and put under the authority of the local offices of the National Migration Institute (INM) in Tampico, in order to provide them with consular assistance and aid them in their return to their countries.
