Alejandro Palacios Benítez "El Cholo Palacios", identified as the leader of a Guerreros Unidos cell in Taxco, was arrested by Federal Police in Mexico City.
According to reports, Palacios Benítez was also the head of gunmen in the same municipality.
The detainee was made available to the Assistant Attorney General's Office for Special Investigations on Organized Crime (SEIDO) to give a statement.
Palacios Benítez is also related to the investigations on the disappearance of the 43 student teachers of Ayotzinapa, which occurred between September 26 and 27 last year.
