Triqui kids receive uniform for Barcelona Cup

The head of the National Sports Commission, Alfredo Castillo, presented the new uniform for the Triqui children basketball team, which will participate in the Barcelona Cup, from July 24 to 29.

Sebastián Ortiz García, the aide for coach Sergio Zúñiga, expressed his thanks for the support and said that they are aiming for better results than the second place they reached last year.

"You already supported us with the uniform and the shoes. Now we are going with the dream of winning that tournament and that is why we are going. Because last year we got the second place and now we want to return with the cup to Mexico," expressed Ortiz García.

Interviewed at the premises of the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (Conade), he added that 13 and 14-year-old players are going to represent Mexico in that tournament, and they will be as tall as their European rivals.

"Last year we played a tough game, even if out players are not so tall ... Now we are hoping that it will be different because our players are taller," he said.

Captain Leonardo Martínez pointed out that "now we are going for the cup."

The Triqui team will play on group "A" along Switzerland, Ireland and two teams from Barcelona.
