PRD candidate killed in the State of Mexico

A federal Congress candidate of the leftist Revolutionary Democratic Party (PRD) in the State of Mexico, Miguel Ángel Luna Munguía was murdered, according to police and party sources.

According to reports, three men shot the representative of the party in his campaign offices in the municipality of Valle de Chalco.

The candidate received several shots and was transferred to a local hospital. An alderman candidate, Tonatiúh González Olvera was also wounded and was transferred to a private hospital. So far, there are no reports about his health.

Miguel Angel Luna Munguía was 45-years-old and had been mayor of Valle de Chalco.

The Secretary of International Relations of the Executive Committee of the PRD, Javier Salinas Narváez, confirmed the death on his Twitter account and called for the "clarification of the attack."
