A total of 20 flooded neighborhoods, the overflow of an irrigation channel, stranded vehicles, and the rescue of a passenger minibus is the balance left by Friday evening's electric storm in Reynosa.
The municipal department of Civil Protection revealed that the weather phenomenon left havoc throughout the city, but luckily there were no deaths and the night shelters were activated to protect those affected by the rains.
The water channel known as "Dren de las Mujeres", that runs parallel to Fundadores avenue, overflowed and until Friday midnight the nearby streets were impassable.
The Independencia and Lucio Blanco neighborhoods are flooded in their entirety by the overflow of five sedimentary rock deposits in the area.
In the Diamante area of the municipality, a user of public transportation had to be rescued from a stranded in the south side of Hidalgo avenue.
Also in this area, the water washed away a Nissan car, while 15 vehicles in the parking lot of a cinema ended under water.
