A 6.4 magnitude struck Ciudad Hidalgo , a community located in Mexico ’s southern state of Chiapas on Tuesday at 8:27 p.m, according to and the U.S. .

There were no casualties or damages reported after the earthquake , which the agency said hit at a depth of 26 km (16 miles), and a distance of about 120 km (75 miles) west of Chiapa s’s Suchiate region .

Earlier, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre monitoring agency had put the quake magnitude at 6.2.

Several other earthquakes have been registered in the Ciudad Hidalgo region today.
