A group of some 50 youngsters wearing hoodies and covering their faces, set on fire a series of garbage cans in the nearby area of University City, south of Mexico City, in order to protest for the acts of violence in the state of Oaxaca.

According to the Department of Public Security, there are no reports of damage because of the fire.

The protesters, who identify themselves as anarchists, also painted graffiti on nearby walls and buses.

They also blocked main Insurgentes avenue, even using a bus, with graffiti all over it.

A group of 300 grenadiers has been dispatched to the area in order to keep an eye on the protesters.
